Tasting notes
In the roaster’s words
Strawberry Fields Coffee Uganda, natural Tasting notes: White chocolate, strawberry, cola bottles Roast style: Filter / espresso Origin: Uganda Region: Rwenzori Mountains Farm: Agri Evolve smallholder farmers Producer: Agri Evolve Varietal: SL14, SL28 Process: Natural Altitude: 1,700 MASL Sweet, fruity and a bit nostalgic. Ripe strawberry and creamy white chocolate lead, with a cola bottle note that tastes like the pick-and-mix bag. It's easygoing and works as filter or espresso. The producer Agri Evolve was founded in 2016 in response to a problem in western Uganda. Farmers were growing great coffee but had no access to proper harvesting and processing facilities, so they sold cheaply and had little chance to improve quality. Agri Evolve works directly with farmers across the Rwenzori Mountains and gives them a reliable market for their cherries. Export profits go back into the community through training, education, equipment and processing facilities. Today it works with over 23,800 registered farmers and runs its own milling and export facilities, which helps producers raise both quality and income. The coffee SL14 and SL28 grown at 1,700 metres in the Rwenzori Mountains and naturally processed. Home-processed naturals were the foundation of Agri Evolve's early work, and they gave farmers a way to improve quality while being paid fairly.
