“sweet · complex · clarity”
Tasting notes
In the roaster’s words
Rwamatamu was founded in 2015 by husband-and-wife team Gaston Rutaganda and Laeticia Mukantwaza in western Rwanda. Alongside coffee production, the project invests heavily in community initiatives, supporting women and younger farmers through training, land access, and long-term development. This natural Red Bourbon lot was processed at Rwamatamu’s Mbare washing station, where cherries are hand sorted and dried slowly on raised beds over several weeks. Careful turning and selection throughout drying help build sweetness and fruit complexity, while preserving the structure and clarity associated with high-elevation Rwandan coffees.
