In the roaster’s words

Founded in 2020, Majarane Agricultural Cooperative was set up by producer Namwana Muvunga Feza to encourage more women to be vocal in the coffee sector. Made up of 500 producers, 44% of whom are women, Majarane Agricultural Cooperative aids women in understanding their role, their rights, and their value in the coffee industry. Women receive training in trades like soap making, tailoring, literacy improvement, learning financial autonomy, and involving women in marketing the cooperative’s products. This lot from the Democratic Republic of Congo, grown between 1,485 and 2,186 metres on the shores of Lake Kivu, delivers tasting notes of jasmine, bergamot, and white peach. These flavours layer together to deliver an aromatic, early grey-like lift, rounded out with a honeyed, stone fruit sweetness.
