UN078 - Hacienda La Esmeralda 2BANC, Geisha Natural
“blueberry · strawberry · raspberry”
Tasting notes
In the roaster’s words
Country of Origin: Panama Variety: Geisha Process: Natural Altitude: 1950 mASL This year, our Head of Coffee, Roosa, travelled to Panama and cupped at Hacienda La Esmeralda, one of the world's most celebrated coffee producers. Renowned for its pioneering role in establishing Geisha as one of the most sought-after varieties in specialty coffee, the family farm continues to set the benchmark for quality. This lot is the first of our releases from this year's harvest. This coffee was processed using Hacienda La Esmeralda's 2BANC protocol: 2 indicates the second harvest pass, B that the coffee was dried on raised beds, AN denotes anaerobic natural fermentation, and C signifies climate-controlled drying. Together, these carefully managed stages produce a coffee with exceptional quality and the unmistakable character that defines Hacienda La Esmeralda. In the cup, we found flavour notes of blueberry, strawberry jam and raspberry coulis.
