Tasting notes
In the roaster’s words
Country of Origin: Ethiopia Variety: Gesha Process: Natural Anaerobic Altitude: 1900-2050 mASL Gesha Village is internationally renowned, and for good reason - the coffee they produce is consistently world-class. The estate is a 471-hectare coffee farm, built by Rachel Samuel, Adam Overton and Willem Boot, in Bench Maji, Ethiopia. Over 8 different blocks, each with their own characteristics, they produce 3 different varieties, Gori Gesha, Illubabor Forest and Gesha 1931. This lot, 26/E-26 is a Gesha 1931 grown on the Surma block and is a part of the Gesha Village Rarities category, which makes up approximately 10% of production. It has undergone an anaerobic fermentation process, which, for us, results in a cup that represents everything we love about Gesha Village coffee - y ou'll experience a complex and refined flavour profile of soft fruit, citrus and a strong florality. In the cup, we found flavour notes of peach, jasmine and mandarin.
