“caramel · citrus · almond”
Tasting notes
In the roaster’s words
Elias and Shady Bayter started growing coffee at El Vergel Estate in 2006, shifting from avocados after prices dropped to unsustainable levels. They soon became known for experimental processing and their Sugarcane decaf—Condor—caught our attention. Grown at 1,450 masl in Fresno, this washed yellow and red caturra blend is decaffeinated nearby at Descafecol in Manizales – a super low carbon footprint in comparison to many decaf coffees from Colombia. El Vergel is our go-to decaf for espresso. Expect caramelised sugar, citrus, and a hint of marzipan.
