Neighbourhood Blend - Brazil
“chocolate · almond · caramel”
Tasting notes
In the roaster’s words
A blend of 20 coffees from 20 producers in the Sul de Minas region of Brazil. A coffee with a neighbourhood story. --- Roasted medium-dark, this blend brings notes of chocolate, almond and caramel with a thick, heavy texture. The Neighbourhood Blend captures a big part of our philosophy: positively impacting the community around us, bringing people together, and making moments better. The story of this coffee starts in the neighbourhoods of Brazil with a special regional competition hosted by the SMC cooperative, and the winning 20 lots of coffee are pooled together to produce a premium blend of coffee. This blend is then sold on the specialty coffee market helping the farmers get better pay, and the customer get better coffee. Not only is there a great story at origin, but it continues on to the neighbourhoods we roast for, and the neighbourhoods we serve from. In collaboration with our local primary school, we held an art competition whereby the children were encouraged to create an artwork retelling this story. The winner, Audrey, age 6, as well as two runners-up, won a host of art goodies for themselves, and the whole school to enjoy, and their artworks are now shown on the bags. --- Origin: Brazil Producer: Especialíssimo Program, Cooxupé Cooperative Varietal: Red and Yellow Catuai Process: Natural
